Climate Activists arrived in India

Our Climate Activist Team has arrived in India and being introduced to the people and the work.

Yessi, Bea, Pablo and their teacher Miguel, have started to visit different projects run by Humana People to People India (HPPI) to work hand in hand with this organization that is the partner of CICD and a very nice host for our volunteers.

This organisation has been working in India for more than 20 years, creating development through the implementation of the projects that aim at transferring knowledge, skills and capacity to individuals who need assistance; integrated projects in education, health, microfinance, community development and environment. And it is about the activities related with this last subject that our team is going to learn and work with, in areas such as tree plantation, renewable energy and environmental education.

After the preparation period in CICD UK, they arrived in New Delhi and went to Behror to visit a BIOGAS construction developed by HPPI Green Action Project. They had the opportunity of learning about this renewable alternative of energy based on a self-sustainable model that promotes clean and efficient energy, better health and improved productivity due to reduced indoor pollution, biodiversity enhancement, and increase in farm incomes - all contributing to a better quality of Life.

At the moment they are staying in Kothur working hand in hand with “Raising Healthy & Educated Community” in Ranga Reddy District (Telangana) in order to have the first impressions of the Indian culture, assimilate new ways of living, sharing with the local people and start to give environmental education lessons. We send our best wishes to them and we will keep you updated of their experiences.
