Hi everyone, I’m Amanda from Seville, Spain!
I’m 21 years old; I love music and animals. I have studied Law, and Economics, and I’m going to study Criminology.
After working in the USA as a lifeguard and a horse barn director assistant, I decided to come to CICD to do something different and meaningful for the world.
Being a Gaia at CICD has been a pretty cool and unique experience for me. I’ve been involved in a mix of stuff—site finding, promotion, and garden. Honestly, each one came with its own set of lessons.
With site finding, I got to go out, check out different places, and figure out if they’d work the purpose that we need them for. It sounds simple, but it really taught me how to look at things in a more practical way and to think ahead. Also, it made me better at working in a team and communicating clearly, which is something I wasn’t always confident about before.
Promotion was a whole other vibe. I had to talk about what we do here, to help spread the word online. At first, it felt a bit awkward, but I got the hang of it. I started to enjoy sharing our story and getting people interested. It actually helped me become more confident in myself too.
Now, about the garden—not gonna lie, it was mostly maintenance. A lot of weeding, watering, and keeping things tidy. It wasn’t the most exciting job, but it taught me patience and how to stay consistent, even when the task is kinda repetitive. Plus, it was nice to just be outside and disconnect for a bit.
Overall, being a Gaia pushed me in a lot of good ways. I learned practical skills, met some amazing people, and grew a lot personally. It’s not your typical experience, but I’m really glad I did it.
