GabrieleCiao! My name is Gabriele, I'm a 20-year-old Catanese boy who loves nature, cooking, and music.

I came here to CICD to step out of my comfort zone, learn new skills, and contribute to something meaningful for the world. I'm excited for this journey and to meet amazing people along the way!

In January I started my Gaia journey, to receive a scholarship that will cover the costs of the volunteer project as a climate activist, in the Caribbean. Currently I take care of the maintenance of the garden and our shared vegetable garden.
I have learned so many things, for example how to use specific agricultural equipment, notions on permaculture and their implementation, I have learned about so many different types of vegetables and their different needs to grow at their best.

It is very nice for me to be in the garden, I am lucky enough to be in contact with nature every day, seeing lots of different animals, enjoying the birds singing and the rustling of the wind in the trees. Every day I learn new things, from different types of compost, to new techniques for collecting rainwater, or even from organic and sustainable bug control systems, to pruning fruit trees and their propagation.

I believe that an experience like this greatly enriches one's cultural background and above all gives you the opportunity to get personally involved and be able to contribute to a change in the most correct and sustainable way!
