Helloo My name is Inês Correia, I'm 28 years old from Lisbon and I studied entrepreneurship and social innovation.
My roots are in a magic village in the countryside of Portugal, which has always led me to live between worlds, city and the countryside. Lately, my passion is to be in the middle of nature, be in tune with what it has to give me and leave a peaceful life, with good food, meaningful connections and Art I love travelling, connecting with different cultures and learning from them.
I have been in the Gaia team for three months now, and it has been quite a journey. In the beginning, I was doing "site finding", which meant driving around and looking for good locations to place our clothing collection containers. This task was both challenging and rewarding.
It helped me improve my communication skills and gain more confidence behind the wheel. However, I must admit that driving for so many hours was also physically and mentally exhausting.
Now, I have moved to another responsibility area: "promotion", which involves spending most of the day in front of the computer to share CICD online and get new students. It's not my favourite task, as I prefer more practical and outdoor activities, but I see it as a new challenge.
It has taught me that we don't always do what we love, as I had more hope of helping in the garden when I arrived…. sometimes we need to do what is necessary for our growth and for the team.
One of the things I've really appreciated here during the Gaia period is getting to know the people who will join me on the project. Building connections with them has been very meaningful and makes me feel more supported and motivated. Although living in a community isn't always easy, it's very enriching to share experiences with people from different countries and backgrounds in this beautiful place, surrounded by nature.
