Ines Correia, Portugal:

Helloo! My name is Inês Correia, I'm 28 years old from Lisbon and I studied entrepreneurship and social innovation.

My roots are in a magic village in the countryside of Portugal, which has always led me to live between worlds, city and the countryside. Lately, my passion is to be in the middle of nature, be in tune with what it has to give me and leave a peaceful life, with good food, meaningful connections and Art I love travelling, connecting with different cultures and learning from them.

I have been in the Gaia team for three months now, and it has been quite a journey. In the beginning, I was doing "site finding", which meant driving around and looking for good locations to place our clothing collection containers. This task was both challenging and rewarding.

Antonio Fragale, Italy:

Hi! My name is Antonio, and I am 32 years old. I have always tried to understand others through studying and books, but I was looking for an experience that would allow me to experience the reality of things firsthand. Above all of this, most importantly, I was looking for something that would allow me to share my experience and personal growth with others.

I came across CICD at a time in my life when I wanted to give new meaning to what I did in my daily life, so I started looking for a place where I could see things from a new perspective and that is how I found it.

Gabriele Virgillito, Italy:

Ciao! My name is Gabriele, I'm a 20-year-old Catanese boy who loves nature, cooking, and music.

I came here to CICD to step out of my comfort zone, learn new skills, and contribute to something meaningful for the world. I'm excited for this journey and to meet amazing people along the way!

In January I started my Gaia journey, to receive a scholarship that will cover the costs of the volunteer project as a climate activist, in the Caribbean. Currently I take care of the maintenance of the garden and our shared vegetable garden.

Hi everyone, My name is Antonella, I am 56 years old and I am an Italian student of Global Studies and EU.

I am particularly interested in the challenges of climate change and its impact on populations. I have been looking for experiences that would lead me to my projects and how to face the new challenges of this rapidly evolving phenomenon. While surfing the net I came across CICD.

I’d like to share my personal experience in the Gaia team at CICD in Hull, which was a fundamental chapter in my personal and professional growth.

Amanda Torres Ajenjo, Spain

Hi everyone, I’m Amanda from Seville, Spain!

I’m 21 years old; I love music and animals. I have studied Law, and Economics, and I’m going to study Criminology.

After working in the USA as a lifeguard and a horse barn director assistant, I decided to come to CICD to do something different and meaningful for the world.

Being a Gaia at CICD has been a pretty cool and unique experience for me. I’ve been involved in a mix of stuff—site finding, promotion, and garden. Honestly, each one came with its own set of lessons.
