Hola!! My name is Kira, I am from Spain, I am 29 years old. I studied a Sociology degree and specialised in Community Social Work. I have always been interested in International Development and how to collaborate internationally to find solutions for climate change challenges. I love to learn and to share, but most of all, I am interested in knowing different ways of living.
I have been at CICD for four months already. Time here goes so fast! Every week doesn’t look like the other. You will be immersed in a communitarian environment, learning about social issues and the impact in the countries where you may go for the development project.
In my Gaia period I was part of the site finding team, I was in charge along with my colleague, to travel around Yorkshire looking for places where to locate containers for the clothes collection.
At the beginning it was challenging because here they drive on the left and I never drove on the left. I learnt to take it day by day and to enjoy the learning process. What I like about site finding is that it allows you to get in touch with locals and get to know a little bit more about their daily life.
When I am at CICD I love to go on walks, I feel so lucky to be surrounded by nature.
I can’t wait to go to Africa.
